3 part question haha 1) How long would it take to get from pop century to the contemporary for Mickey’s breakfast? 2) What would the fastest way to get to the Fort Wilderness campsites from Contemporary? 3) What about contemporary to pop century?

Hi there, Susan! Welcome to planDisney--we're so glad you've decided to be our guest. Your excellent three-part question warrants a thorough answer, and I'm here to help, one Susan to another!

It sounds like you've scored a coveted reservation for Chef Mickey's, which I think is one of the most iconic experiences at Walt Disney World Resort. Enjoying your breakfast with Mickey and pals while the monorail glides overhead at Disney's Contemporary Resort is the most magical way to start a Disney day, and I am sure your family will love it! My girls are too-cool-for-school teens and it's still a favorite of theirs.

OK, let's talk transportation. Travel time between Disney's Pop Century Resort and the Contemporary is about 15 minutes, and there are a few options for your trip. Walt Disney World buses will start running about 45 minutes before Magic Kingdom Park opens, so you can take a bus to the park and then walk over to breakfast on the handy walking path that connects the Contemporary and the Magic Kingdom. These morning buses can get crowded with lots of Guests hoping to get an early start in the parks, so I suggest allowing additional time in case you have to wait at the bus stop.

For the return trip from the Contemporary to Pop Century, simply walk back to the Magic Kingdom bus pickup area to catch a ride back to your hotel. So easy!

On to the second leg of your journey--traveling from the Contemporary to The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort! You can take a bus from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness, but I highly recommend taking advantage of Disney water transportation for a scenic cruise to the campground. There are both water taxis and ferryboats that run from the park at 15- to 30-minute intervals, and it's really a lovely way to travel and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.

For a more direct route, you can use Disney Minnie Van Service, which offers a personal ride straight to your destination on Walt Disney World property in polka-dotted comfort. These vehicles are owned and operated by Disney and piloted by a friendly Cast Member, and include up to two car seats. To request a Minnie Van, use the Lyft app to set your destination--usually these show up at the bottom of the results list, so simply scroll down to see them as an option.

Traditional rideshare via Lyft or Uber is an option, too! I usually find that there are lots of available drivers and the fares for trips on property are not too pricey. Keep in mind that Guests traveling to the Magic Kingdom will be dropped off at the Transportation and Ticket Center and must transfer to a monorail or boat to reach the park and the Contemporary.

Susan, I hope this information is just what you need for your planning purposes! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, and please stop by anytime if we can help with more questions to make your August trip practically perfect.

    See Ya Real Soon!
