Hi Christopher!
Welcome to planDisney!
I’m happy to report that the theme parks at
Disney World are scheduled to be open all year round! Of course, there have been times in which the parks have had to close for safety reasons, such as a severe hurricane. But that has happened very few times over the years since Disney World opened in 1971.
While you can expect the theme parks to be open daily, their operating hours may vary. You can check the
Hours & Events Calendar to see park hours and showtimes for each day of your trip. That calendar updates about two months in advance.
It’s also good to note that, unlike the theme parks, the
water parks may not be open daily. The water parks will close if the outside temperature is too cold, which might affect your trip if you’re traveling in February.
With that being said, if the water parks are a high priority, I recommend scheduling your trip for a bit later in the year. But if you’ll be focusing your time on the theme parks, February is a great time to visit!
Other than Presidents’ Day weekend, the crowds tend to be on the lighter side in February. Plus,
Epcot’s Festival of the Arts is usually in full swing, which is one of my favorites!
If you have any other questions as you start planning, let us know! We’re always happy to help!
