When do the parks start "decorating" for Halloween? We are going on Oct. 8th and hoping things will be decorated. Any things we should do/see related to Halloween on our trip (we are going with a 6 year old girl and 3 year old boy/girl twins)?

    Hi Marlena,

While all the Disney theme parks are decorated for Christmas, the Magic Kingdom is really the only park that gets gussied up for Halloween. The Halloween decorations will be in place before the first happening of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The exact Halloween Party dates have not yet been announced, but during the past several years that parties have started in September. I feel confident that you'll have a chance to see the Halloween decorations with an October 8 arrival date.

If your kids were a bit older, I'd say that the Halloween Party is a must-do. However, the party hours are 7:00 - midnight. If your kids are night owls or you're coming from a different time zone, this might work for you. If your kids go to bed quite early, you may want to save this for another trip.

There will be plenty of Halloween merchandise available in the parks. You could certainly get costumes or goody bags for your kids during your vacation.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you need additional help.
