Welcome to planDisney, Julie! I'm so happy you found us and asked your question today.
So, we all know that it's nice to open a gift that's tied up with a perfect bow. But really, the greatest present of all was given to us long ago...and that's the people with whom we get to spend the
holidays. And it's even more true when you get to spend that time with them at the Most Magical Place on Earth. You must be friends with Santa, Julie, because Christmas at the
Walt Disney World Resort is at the top of my list. And it looks like it might be at the top of yours as well!
The theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort
are open on Christmas day. If you'd like to know the specific hours, the
calendar is usually updated with that information 60 days before the date you'd like to visit. Christmas Day is actually a very busy day at the parks so I would make sure to purchase your vacation package or
theme park tickets soon. You also want to make sure that you book your
Theme Park Reservations too as they are required for all Guests until January 9, 2024.
While I have not yet been to the resort on Christmas day, I
have been during the Christmas season and there's just nothing like it. All around the Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A., there are dreams coming true. People come from miles and miles just to be there. It feels like home, especially when spent with the people you love. You feel safe and warm and those people and the memories you'll make will make it your favorite place to be during the holidays.
And the star on top of the Christmas tree?
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which is usually only performed for the separately-ticketed
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, is often performed in
Magic Kingdom Park on Christmas Day and even that last week of December...and it's included in your theme park admission! You'll want to check back as your dates get closer to see if this is once again the case!
Julie, I hope you have the merriest, jolliest, and most beautiful Christmas ever at the resort. And remember that the real magic, and the real presents, are the hugs, smiles, laughter, and thrills that come with being near those you love. You won't need a bell to ring. You'll know it's Christmas and that the season will be bright when you're together.
If you have any other questions,
please reach out. I'm always happy to help make some magic, Christmas or otherwise.
Christmas is a togethery sort of holiday,
Matt
