Amy,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
So the parks can, on rare occasions, stop accepting more guests after having reached their capacity limit. This can happen as a security measure, as you can imagine. You can only fit so many people in one place safely, and Disney is very focused on guest safety.
The times that this will happen is rare, and typically occurs on dates that are fairly easy to anticipate. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, and New Year's Eve all come to mind. Also, this does not mean that all the parks will reach capacity. Usually, it is just at the Magic Kingdom, though of course it could happen at any of the parks.
It is also important to note that if you are park hopping, a specific park may reach capacity and temporarily not allow new guests to enter. I caution that this could happen, but I am also glad to report that I have never had a problem getting in to a second park on my travels. Perhaps if you were trying to get into the Magic Kingdom on one of those peak dates, like Christmas Day, you likely would have a problem, but most days you should be fine. When you are getting ready to park hop, just call
(407) 560-5000. That line will tell you the status of all the parks, and if the park you want to hop to has space.
FINAL NOTEAs long as you have made a
Theme Park Reservation for your park of choice, you should be just fine. That reservation assures you entry to that park for the day. You can check availability for your planned dates by going to the
Disney Park Pass Availability Calendar.
