Ahoy there, Marshall!
Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for sailing by with your question.
One of the great things about beginning a Disney Cruise Line vacation from
Port Canaveral is that it is easy to access if you plan to drive to the port. Did you know it is an easy drive to Walt Disney World Resort?
Disney Vacations by Land & Sea are my favorite, so as long as you are in the area, I highly recommend making a pitstop before or after your cruise.
Parking at the cruise terminal is operated by the Port Canaveral Port Authority. You can find the price of parking, driving directions, and cruise terminal location for your cruise on their website. At the moment, parking is $17 per day plus tax (credit card payment only) for most vehicles. Rates are subject to change without notice, so contact the port directly for the latest information. No reservations are needed.
At Port Canaveral, I find it easy to park my car in the garage and take my luggage with me rather than dropping off luggage with the porters at the terminal entrance. However, if needed, you can always proceed to the passenger and luggage drop-off area before parking your vehicle.
Remember, Guests should arrive at their assigned Port Arrival Time (you select this during
Online Check-In). This will allow a smoother check-in process for you and other Guests and you will not be permitted to enter until your assigned time. Don't forget to pack your
Government-Issued ID and your boarding documents in your carry-on bag. We wouldn't want your vacation to be delayed!
I hope this information helps you with your vacation planning, Marshall. Don't hesitate to let us know if you have other questions!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
