Hello Helen!
Welcome to planDisney! Oh boy! You sure will have a long travel day ahead for you! I do not like visiting the Parks on my arrival day as well. I agree that the day is best spent relaxing, setting up for the holiday ahead of me and touring my Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.
I'm not sure if you bought the
7-Day or 14-Day Magic Ticket but the usage period starts from the date you selected at time of purchase. A 7-Day Magic Ticket has a 15-Day window where you can use your ticket in any combination you like. The 14-Day Magic Ticket has a 18-Day window. If this window doesn't encompass the day you wish to check out I would see about modifying your ticket start date. Right now, guests can modify their Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and Ticket package without any fees up to 7 days before arrival. Sometimes there is a charge if you move your start date to a peak day which means a higher price difference. Prices and fees are subject to change at any time so make sure you resolve this quickly. If you used a travel agent I would reach out to them directly to adjust this. If you purchased directly from the Walt Disney Travel Company then
contact them via phone or email.
One of the best parts of the Magic Tickets is that
Memory Maker is included! I am a huge fan of Memory Maker and recommend it to everyone. I love taking pictures with my family in the Parks. The backdrops are beautiful and the PhotoPass photographers are so helpful. Always ask for Magic Shots as they are such a fun surprise. If you see a short line for a PhotoPass photographer go jump on and take that picture. You can also locate Disney PhotoPass photographers via the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. For in-ride photos make sure your phone battery is not on "Low Power Mode" and keep an eye on your
PhotoPass gallery via the app. It can take about a day for some photos to appear in your gallery. However, if a photo is not appearing you can visit the
Disney PhotoPass office in each of the four theme parks before you leave to have them uploaded properly. Trust me, you will need these amazing pictures to look back on when you return home. The end of a holiday is so sad but the pain is tempered by these captured moments.
I hope this helps and you have a fabulous time!
Happy Planning!
