Will the park have shorter hours in February? Do you think we would be able to swim in the resort pools this time of year?

    Hi, Sarah!

I wouldn't say the park hours are shorter in the month of February. I did a quick check of the theme park calendars, and it looks like every park is open until at least 8:00 PM. Compared to holiday seasons, when hours are often extended because of the crowd level, these may seem shorter, but they are about the average for non-holiday seasons.

Temperatures at Walt Disney World can be slightly unpredictable in the winter. The average high temperature in February is in the low 70s, but it's not uncommon to wake up to temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s. The pools at all of the Walt Disney World resort hotels and even the water parks is heated to 82 degrees. So the bottom line answer to can you swim is a resounding YES! I will tell you though, getting out of that balmy 82 degree water into the cooler temperatures can be a bit of a shock. I always pack a plushier bathrobe for my girls or grab an extra pool towel for them to wrap up in.

Thanks so very much for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your questions, Sarah!
