Welcome to planDisney, Sara! We are glad you stopped by with your questions.
To manage theme park attendance, the Disney Park Pass system was introduced. At this time, all Guests ages 3 and up will need both a Disney Park Pass theme park reservation as well as valid
admission in order to enter a theme park. To make a Disney Park Pass reservation, you first must have a
ticket or pass linked to your My Disney Experience account. Once your ticket has been linked, you can
make Disney Park Pass reservations online using this link or through the
My Disney Experience mobile app by using the plus button at the bottom of the screen to select "Make a Park Reservation". Be sure to check the
theme park reservation availability calendar prior to purchasing tickets. Disney Park Pass reservations are limited, and availability can change at any time. If you are finding limited availability at the parks you wish to visit, you might want to consider adding the
Park Hopper Option to your ticket. This way you can begin your day in whichever park has reservations available and then "hop" to a different park after 2:00 pm when park hopping hours begin.
Guests who have booked a stay at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel can order discounted
MagicBands through their
My Disney Experience account. Use the My Disney Experience drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the page to select "My MagicBands and Cards". If you will not be staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel,
MagicBands may be ordered from shopDisney or purchased at many shops throughout Walt Disney World Resort. I know the current selection online is rather limited, so my advice would be to wait to purchase when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. There is a much broader selection available at the shops in the parks, at the resorts, and at
Disney Springs.
You might like to know that MagicBands, while convenient, are not required to access your theme park admission. Guests can create a
Disney MagicMobile pass in the My Disney Experience mobile app and save it to the digital wallet on their phone.
A Disney MagicMobile pass will work in much the same way as a MagicBand.
I hope that helps! Please stop by planDisney again anytime with any additional questions you might have.
