I have park reservations for Christmas Day at Magic Kingdom, if I make dining reservations for Cinderella's Table at dinner time, will I be guaranteed re-entry if I leave and they reach capacity?

    Hiya Tamara,

Welcome to planDisney. Hot diggity dog! Christmas Day at Walt Disney World Resort is one of the best presents I could think of, and the icing on that cake is not only being at Magic Kingdom but an advanced dining reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table. It is like hitting the trifecta in Walt Disney World magic.

Our family loves the early morning rope drop starts and typically plans a small afternoon break back at our Disney Resorts Collection hotel before returning to the theme park for dinner, evening entertainment and shopping. There is something about the idea of "first one in, last one out", when it comes to the theme parks, that just makes us smile. Usually there are just a few times a year where a theme park reaches capacity and entry is limited or suspended. Unfortunately, one of those days is often Christmas Day. I understand your concern - the two times our family spent Christmas at Magic Kingdom, we actually started the morning just a little later than usual and did not leave for an afternoon break as we were also worried about the park reaching capacity. While I cannot guarantee you will be able to re-enter, I did talk to a handful of Cast Members who advised that Guests with a theme park reservation as well as an advanced dinner reservation are usually the last to be turned away for re-entry.

My suggestion would be to stop at Guest Relations and speak with a Cast Member before leaving the theme park, and plan on being flexible that day. If the Cast Member indicates a concern with your chance of a later re-entry, I would plan on staying and look for other alternatives to take a break. There are a handful of great attractions where you are seated, and out of the sun, for an extended period of time. Two of our favorites are The Carousel of Progress and The Hall of Presidents - both excellent stage shows. There are also a number of benches throughout the park to rest your weary feet. Grab a Mickey Mouse Premium ice cream bar and a shaded bench and enjoy the holiday decorations and music.

Wishing you the most magical time! If I can assist with any additional planning questions, please stop back and see me

    With pixie dust,
    Margaret
