Do you have to make a park reservation for the water park to use your free complimentary ticket in 2025 on check-in day?

Hiya, Leah! Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for bringing us this splish splash spectacular question! The water park benefit is such a great perk for guests of Walt Disney World Resort hotels, and a super fun way to kick-off your vacation.

I’m happy to report that you don’t need to make a theme park reservation to enjoy your complimentary water park ticket. In fact, you could skip the hotel and go straight to the water park if you don’t have any luggage with you (it’s important to note that luggage is not allowed in Disney water parks or on Disney buses). If you do have luggage, then simply stop at your hotel’s bell services to drop off your bags.

In recent years, both Walt Disney World water parks have not been open at the same time, with one closed for refurbishments while the other is operational. So depending on your vacation dates, you’ll get to enjoy either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach is currently scheduled to be open until April 30, 2025, and Typhoon Lagoon will open to the public the next day on May 1, 2025.

Whichever water park you get to visit, you’re going to have a fantastic time. If you’re looking for a way to relax, then you should grab a tube and float down Castaway Creek at Typhoon Lagoon or Cross County Creek at Blizzard Beach. Both lazy rivers wind their way around their respective parks and are a great way to unwind after a long day of travel.

Leah, I hope this information helps with your vacation planning and that you have a wonderful aquatic adventure at Walt Disney World. Pop right back to planDisney if you have any other questions. Our knowledgeable panelists are here to help!

    Magical travels!
