We have a park reservation for California Adventure on 12/31, but will not be able to enter the park until 2pm. Will we have an issue getting in due to the park being at capacity or are we ok given we have a park reservation?

    Welcome to planDisney, Timothy!

I am thrilled you are planning to bring in a New Year at Disneyland Resort. We have also spent New Year's Eve at Disney's California Adventure. It is such a magical experience to still see the holiday decorations and soak up the atmosphere of an epic New Year's Eve experience. Let's look at park reservations!

While it is always possible for the theme parks to hit capacity, it is much less likely thanks to theme park reservations. Additionally, most Magic Key passes are blocked out for 12/31 so that will also aid in managing theme park capacity. Disneyland Resort typically only provides an allotted amount theme park reservations and Guests do need it to enter the theme parks, so your reservations should be honored even if the parks are nearing capacity. You will likely be good to go for entering the theme parks at 2:00 PM. However, the official guidelines do state that theme park reservations do not guarantee theme park admission. I would recommend calling the Tickets phone line to review your specific tickets so you can rest easy about entering Disney California Adventure later in the day. Also, make sure you check out the Holiday Foodie Guide with treats that will be available through January 7th, 2024. My favorites are the festive options at the Cozy Cone Motel! I hope this helps you plan a practically perfect New Year's Eve.

Thank you for visiting planDisney. Enjoy making magical memories!
