Ahoy there, Chintzu!
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for sailing by with your question. I'm glad you are planning your port arrival. I always feel like I'm that much closer to my vacation beginning when I check things off my list.
I have driven my car to Port Canaveral many times and can give you a few tips. The
parking decks for Disney Cruise Line Terminal #8 and Terminal #10 (opening later this year) are operated by the Port Canaveral Port Authority and are incredibly convenient to the terminal, making your embarkation and debarkation a breeze. There are no reservations needed and you will pay when you arrive. After your cruise, you can return to your car and be on your way. The parking rate is reasonably priced and currently, the daily rate is $17, though subject to change without notice. Please note that they accept major credit cards, but do not accept cash.
One little tip for when you are using GPS to navigate to the port: some GPS systems don't recognize Port Canaveral as a city, so you may use Cape Canaveral as your destination city. Don't worry, you will get there with either destination and you can't miss the gorgeous
Disney Wish as you approach the port!
Once you board the ship, I encourage you to explore
Disney's Oceaneer Club during the Open House hours. Even without children, I was blown away by how creative and immersive these spaces are! And here's a secret – adults can use the special slide from the Grand Hall atrium down to the Youth Activities area. You can find the Open House hours in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
I hope this information is helpful, Chintzu. Please let us know if you have other questions!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
