Hi there, Ben!
Oh boy! what a treasure you have! Those vintage Walt Disney World tickets are like a little slice of Disney history, and I’m thrilled you stopped by planDisney to ask about them.
The 1980s were such a magical time at the parks. That’s actually when I took my very first trip to Walt Disney World, too! Back then, ticket options looked a lot different. Some guests may remember the classic ticket books with A through E tickets; E-tickets were the most thrilling rides, like Space Mountain or the Haunted Mansion! By the time EPCOT Center opened in 1982, guests could start purchasing day passes instead, and if you were savvy enough to choose the no-expiration option, those tickets became golden souvenirs that still hold value today.
The good news is you’re in luck...those
unused park days can likely still be used!
Here’s what you’ll want to do:
1. Take clear photos of each ticket (front and back).
2. Email the photos to: ticket.usage@disneyworld.com.
3. A Cast Member from Guest Services will reply with the next steps, including how to confirm the validity of the tickets and what to bring when you visit.
Once verified, the remaining days can typically be converted into digital tickets and linked to your
My Disney Experience account. That way, you’ll be set to use them just like a modern-day ticket! And if the original tickets had the no-expiration option, those remaining days are still valid with no expiration date, just as they were decades ago.
Ben, I hope you get the chance to enjoy every bit of magic those tickets still hold. It’s like Mickey’s giving you a retro invitation to relive the magic all over again! If you need help planning your visit or want to talk about what’s new since your last trip, we’re all ears!
With magic,
Eean
