What is the park like on New Year's Eve? Is it possible to get in? Special stuff going on?

    Hi Michael,

I was fortunate to spend New Years Eve at the Walt Disney World Resorts. It was one of those things I really wanted to experience and I am glad I did.

Magic Kingdom is where I was for New Years Eve. I chose this park because my children were young and I did not want to be in a park where alcohol was served. While I am not against drinking, I just did not want to have to have them expose to guests who may have had one to many. We were in the park by 4:00 pm so that we would have a guaranteed spot in the park. All parks have a maximum capacity so we made sure we were in the Magic Kingdom early enough. They did close the park that night.

I remember special fireworks but I did not see the parade as we were on the rides. They do publish any extras a few weeks before so guests know what to expect.

I have friends who think Epcot is the best place to experience the New Year. I know I personally love Epcot for the winter holiday celebration.

If you are staying on site, you can ask for information on what will be happening at each park, Downtown Disney and your resort.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
