Welcome to planDisney, Asha! I am so happy to have you here.
I have answered questions about park hopping quite a few times. The new park pass reservation system was confusing to me at first as well.
Simply put, you have to make a park pass reservation for the theme park you wish to begin your day at. So, whether it is Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you will make the reservation for that park. When the clock strikes 2:00 PM on that day, you can park hop to any park that has availability.
To check park hopping availability, simply open your
MyDisneyExperience mobile app. Click on the three lines in the lower right corner. Then, select “Park Hours & Info” in the left-hand column. Scroll down a little, and you will see each theme park listed, the park hours for the day, and then “park hopper availability” and the hours (2:00 PM – close).
On our recent visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, we utilized park hopper quite a few times. I found that one of the best hops was from EPCOT to Disney’s Hollywood Studios late in the afternoon. The Disney Skyliner runs between these two parks, and the trip takes about 20 minutes. We went directly to
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and joined the queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The posted wait time was 85 minutes, and we wound up in the line for about 65 minutes. We passed the time with the
Play Disney Parks app and the Star Wars: Datapad game.
I hope you have a fantastic visit to Walt Disney World. Thank you again for trusting us with your question.
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
