I have a park hopper ticket for december 2021. After I completed my first park , Will I have a default entry to the 2nd park even though the 2nd park is full at the time of my visit? If the entry is denied then whats the use of the park hopper ticket?

Hi there, Mohanakumaran! I am so glad you found us here at planDisney to ask your park hopping question.

The new park pass reservation system can be a little confusing. It was for me, too, at the beginning. The easiest way to explain it is you simply need to make a reservation for the theme park you want to START your day at. You can then plan to enjoy that park, whether it is Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. You can begin to park hop at 2pm that day since you have a park hopper ticket.

By using the MyDisneyExperience mobile app, you can look to see which parks are allowing park hopping that day by clicking on the three lines in the lower right corner, and then “park hours & info”. Here, each theme park hours will show, and also “park hopper availability” and the time (2:00 pm to close). There is a possibility that your desired park will not have availability for you to hop to. While we haven’t encountered that yet, there is never a guarantee that every park will be available.

Last weekend, my friends and I park hopped a couple of times. I find that the easiest hop is from EPCOT to Disney’s Hollywood Studios using the Disney Skyliner. This ride takes about 20 minutes and is kind of like another attraction. The queue wait times in the evening at Hollywood Studios also seem to be lighter than the morning. We waited for a little over an hour to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and played the Star Wars Datapad game available on MyDisneyExperience while we waited. It made the time go a lot faster.

I hope this helps with planning for your December visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Do not miss visiting Disney’s Beach Club Resort to see the gorgeous Gingerbread carousel. There are 21 hidden golden Mickeys on the carousel, and we could only find 20!

    Happy Traveling (& hopping),
