Mary-Ellen,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
As you may know, Disney has a variable pricing policy for
Theme Park Tickets. The price of the base ticket can vary dependent upon season and demand. Currently, however, the Park Hopper Option still is a fixed added cost. That could change in the future, so do be sure to price things out yourself when you have your exact dates in mind.
At this time, the cost of adding the Park Hopper Option to your base ticket varies dependent on the number of days on your ticket. But for either an adult or a child, the cost added to your pre-tax total ranges from $65 to $85. Note that this is a total charge, not a per-day charge. For a 1-day ticket you pay an added $65. If you get 2 or 3-day tickets, you will pay an extra $75. For tickets that are 4-day tickets or longer, all the way up to 10-day tickets, you pay an additional $85.
What I love about this is that the per-day cost really drops as you come for a longer stay. If you are here for a 10-day park visit (Lucky!), your average per day additional cost drops to under $10 for this wonderful perk.
Do remember that currently Park Hopping is only available after 2 pm, and the park you are hopping to has to have availability. I have never encountered a problem of getting in, but if you are visiting at a busier time of the year, it is something you should consider.
BONUS TIPMy family has started to run into the issue of having too many restaurant favorites in
EPCOT. One daughter loves the
Biergarten Restaurant with the entertaining band while my other daughter wants to get pizza at
Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria. My wife wants to visit the Parisian bistro of
Chefs de France, and I prefer to just walk around and share little plates from all the countries. With the Park Hopper option, we will visit another park in the morning and early afternoon, and then head over to EPCOT for some shopping and dinner, hitting everyone's favorite dinner venue throughout the week.
Have a Magical Vacation!
