We want to park hop in Walt Disney World on a single day and optimize rides. Can we buy a Lightning Lane Premier pass for 1 park and a Lightning Lane Multi Pass for a different park for the same day? We are staying on site at a Disney Resort.

    Heya Joseph!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for submitting your question. Congratulations on such a wonderful countdown... your magical vacation will be here before you know it! Sounds like you've got an awesome plan to pack in as much pixie-dusted fun as possible, so let's talk about an optimal Lightning Lane Pass strategy.

Your idea is practically perfect, and the answer is YES! Lightning Lane Premier Pass can be combined with Lightning Lane Multi Pass (and even Lightning Lane Single Pass!) purchases on the same day. You need to be a Disney Resort guest to purchase a Premier Pass, and as you describe that would only be for attractions in 1 park. Your Multi Pass will initially be for a different park, and your 3 selections will be made from that park's attractions. However, because you'll be using park hopper tickets... as soon as you tap in to use your first Lightning Lane Multi Pass that day, you'll immediately be allowed to select another pass for any park of your choice! For this reason, and to maximize availability, it may be best to start out the first portion of your day at your Multi Pass park.

I don't know your exact Disney Park plans? But if you are debating which parks to select for your Lightning Lane purchases, my top recommendations are Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Both parks have so many amazing headliner attractions you don't want to miss!

Purchasing Lightning Lane passes is easy, and can be done from the home screen of the My Disney Experience app. As a Disney Resort guest your eligibility for purchasing Lightning Lane passes will begin at 7:00 am Eastern Time, 7 days prior to your check-in date. While you won't need to select arrival times for your Premier Pass, you will do so for the Multi Pass. Because of this, I strongly suggest you purchase them right when your eligibility window opens up for the best selection.

Oh, boy! Being able to skip the stand-by line is going to save you so much time, and pack so much into your Magical Disney Day! Woo hoo! I hope this helps answer your question, Joseph. Enjoy every magical moment of your Disney World vacation, and please visit us again at planDisney any time if we can assist with ideas or tips.

    See ya' real soon!
