Hi Amanda. Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Currently, Guests are required to have both a valid admission ticket, such as a
Magic Key, and a
theme park reservation to enter the parks. As a Magic Key holder, you have
Park Hopping benefits, which give you greater flexibility in your park day. With theme park reservations and Park Hopper, you're selecting the theme park you want to start the day in when you make your reservation. So, if the park you want to start the day in is open, you'll make your reservation, and later, you can hop to the other park. The good news is the second park doesn't need reservation availability for you to hop on over to it. Only if a park reaches capacity would you be prevented from entering that second park for a while, but that's rare and happens only on the most popular days of the year.
It sounds like you're new to being a Magic Key holder. Congratulations! I think you're going to love having more access to the magic,
discounts, and special perks. I've loved having mine this year. My family loves to dine in the parks, so we find great value in the dining discounts. The merchandise discounts are great too because there's always something we can't live without. If you're not following the
Disneyland Magic Key blog, do so! It's the official source for information about exclusives for Magic Key holders. We've picked up some cute complimentary keepsakes this year with my Magic Key, which I learned about following the blog.
Have a magical day!
Elizabeth
