Hello, Our park days are January 8-12th. I had seen where the meal plans are coming back on January 9th. Can we go to guest services and purchase meal plans or can we do that in the app for the days in the park after meal plans start again?

Welcome to planDisney, Matthew, and thanks for stopping by with this great question. As Tiana would say, "You're almost there!" Walt Disney World Resort is beckoning just around the corner, so let's look at the possibility of adding the Disney Dining Plan to your visit.

I chatted with a well-fed Cast Member who said that, unfortunately, you can't add a Disney Dining Plan to a partial reservation. The plan must be valid for all dates of your vacation package, so since you arrive just before the plans begin, you cannot purchase dining for this visit. I'm so sorry that's not the news you hoped for, but I have an idea.

For me, dining plans offer a convenient way to budget for my family's meals. But when the plans were unavailable, I used Disney Gift Cards as a way to keep track of our spending. You can pick up the cards at many major retailers or purchase digital gift cards online. They are accepted at most Disney-owned restaurants and shops throughout the resort, and if everyone in your party has a card with a daily allotment, you'll know they can stay within budget.

Matthew, dining plan or not, you'll enjoy some delicious meals and magical memories on your upcoming visit. Please stop by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
