If the park closes at 9:00 and the fireworks start at 9 is it possible to do a ride or character greet during the fireworks show? My family loves to take advantage of a shorter line during the fireworks, but we usually go when the park will be open later

    Hi Annie,

I see that your visit is just a couple of short weeks away! SO EXCITING! With spring in the air and the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival and Mickey & Minnie's Surprise Celebration going on, you're coming at a GREAT time!

I'm happy to let you know that yes, if you want to take advantage of the shorter lines during fireworks shows, you will be able to enjoy an attraction or character greeting during that time. The only thing that is that if the theme park closes at 9:00 p.m., you need to make sure that you're in line by then. Lines won't stay open after closing, even if fireworks are going on, but any Guests who are in the line when the theme park closes will be able to enjoy that attraction or experience before heading out for the evening. It's not only a great way to enjoy just a bit more magic and fun before the day ends, but it can also be a great strategy for experiencing a really popular attraction. My family was able to enjoy Frozen Ever After once during IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth with hardly any wait. Since we had already seen that fireworks show earlier in the week, it was the perfect opportunity for us to soak up some extra magic with one of our favorite attractions.

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Annie, and please feel free to bring us any other questions you may have as you're preparing for your trip. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
