Hi! In 1976 my parents took me & my brother to WDW & had our portraits done. The artists reflected our shadows on the wall, cut out our profiles on black paper & mounted in an oval frame? Is this still available?

    Yes!

I have had silhouette portraits made of my girls made during a recent Walt Disney World vacation. They immediately became one of my favorite Disney souvenirs ever!

There are several places at WDW where you can have silhouettes done. We had ours made by a very friendly artist named Jan right on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. (Hi Jan! Your beautiful work is now hanging in our upstairs hallway.) She is stationed at a large cart about half way down Main Street on the right, just into a small alleyway. There is also a silhouette cart in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom. If you're in Epcot, there are silhouette artists near the France pavilion at the World Showcase. And there is also a silhouette stand in the Downtown Disney Marketplace area.

In addition to being an amazing keepsake, I felt like the silhouettes were very reasonably priced. The actual silhouette itself was only about $8.00 per person (bear in mind that prices can change). There were also very moderately priced oval frames for sale there and suited the art perfectly.

Oh, I can just see your childhood silhouette framed next to current family silhouettes. How special!
