My parents are taking our families to WDW Christmas 09 for their 40th anniv. There will be 6 adults, & 2 girls ages 4&6. We hope to stay 10 days at BCV or BC. Is it a mistake going this time of year, in terms of getting dining reservations?

If you are well organized and willing to get up early to make a phone call, there is no time of the year that is terrible from a "getting dining reservations" standpoint.  I recently made my dining reservations for Thanksgiving week this year -- a very busy time at WDW. I called at 7:00 a.m., exactly 180 days out from my trip arrival date and I was able to secure a reservation at every restaurant I wanted. If I had waited until the week before I arrived, then I would likely have been shut out completely. As I said, with good planning, you should be fine, even during a holiday week.

I have stayed at the Beach Club and the Beach Club Villas many times. This would be a lovely place to spend Christmas and an anniversary. The lobby of the BC is decorated every year with a giant carousel made completely of gingerbread.

Good luck with your planning. Be sure to let us know if you need any help :-)
