Hiya, Haley! Welcome, and thank you for your question.
I love family trips to
Walt Disney World, and almost all of our trips have included parents or grandchildren. That means sometimes, you have to spread out to multiple
Disney Resorts Collection hotels.
Your parents are in a fairly convenient place at the
Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort if you want to access them from one of the
Deluxe Resort Hotels. Your best option for
resort transportation is going to be by
water taxi. These complimentary resort boat launches go between both
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and
Disney's Contemporary Resort about every 20 minutes throughout the day. Those will be the most convenient resorts with the most direct route. You could also consider both
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. You'll have to take the resort monorail to the Contemporary Resort, then hop off and head to the marina to access the boats. It's a bit longer but totally doable.
If there's a deluxe resort you love without direct access, don't worry too much. You can get to the Ticket and Transportation Center from any of the resorts, and that will allow you to catch a bus to your parents. It's also a good meeting spot if you want to use Disney transportation to visit a resort for breakfast or dinner.
I hope this helps you make a practically perfect choice for your family, Haley!
