my parents are meeting us at the park but not staying on disney property. Can we use one of our sit down dining service for them? How would a Disney restaurant handle this?

    Melissa,

You can dine with them, but you can't assign any of your Dining Plan credits to them. What you can do is sit with them to dine, where you use your credits to pay for your meals, and they would need to pay separately for their own meals.

Since they are not staying on Disney property, they are not eligible to order the Disney Dining Plans, as that is reserved for guest of Disney resort properties.

I hope that this helps? If not, please feel free to ask me a follow-up question directly by going to my bio page.

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
