Welcome to planDisney, Anne! How lucky you are to have family living so close to the
Walt Disney World Resort magic. I spend part of the year in Florida and enjoy hosting friends and relatives, and we often add on a few days at the theme parks. Let's talk about who's eligible for discounted theme park tickets and other resident discounts for your upcoming trip.
Special offers for Florida residents are intended exclusively for people who live or own property in the Sunshine State. For theme park tickets, every guest over 18 must show
valid proof of residency to activate a ticket. I know this isn't what you were hoping to hear, but there is a way your parents could pass on some resident savings.
If your folks book a
Disney Resort Hotel using a current offer for Floridians, only one of the residents will be asked for proof of residency. Other guests in the room can be from anywhere! So you could enjoy their discount on a resort stay, and the Disney Resort Hotels are fabulous. Guests at resorts enjoy
Early Theme Park Entry, and the theming and amenities make for a destination in themselves. For an economical stay, my favorite choice is
Disney's Pop Century Resort because I love taking the
Disney Skyliner to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
I suggest checking the
Special Offers page for other discounts you might be eligible for. There are often military offers, seasonal deals, and even a current dining discount for guests who subscribe to Disney+. Once you've secured your tickets, your parents can book everyone's stay at a Disney Resort. I foresee a practically perfect family vacation!
Anne, thanks again for stopping by

Magic awaits,
