Hello, Deborah! We're so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
The Parasol Parade at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa was one of those "magical extras," that few Guests knew about unless they had happened upon it during their stay. The Mousekeeping staff would line up at the marina at 8:00 AM on Monday and Friday mornings to stroll the Victorian courtyards between the main building and the swimming pool. This long-standing tradition started when the resort opened in 1988, but unfortunately, it was recently "retired," after its 30th anniversary. A Cast Member that I spoke to speculated that it was due to the refurbishment that is currently taking place in the space that was formerly Mizner's Lounge, and that the parade would possibly be brought back once that was complete (I can't wait to see the
new Beauty and the Beast inspired lounge this fall!). I'm not sure if that's the case or not, but it's always possible that the parade could be reinstated by the time of your trip in August.
I still encourage you to spend some time exploring the resort property. For the ultimate respite from the Parks, try the
Afternoon Tea at Garden View Tea Room where you'll be seated in a room offering lovely views of the courtyard garden.
I hope you have a "Jolly Holiday" this summer, Deborah!
