We would like to see the parade at the magic kingdom on August 2. I was hoping to book Tiana's River boat social, but that doesn't look like a possibility. Is this correct? What is the best way to reserve a spot for the parade?

    Dear Meredith,

Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

The August dates for Tiana's Riverboat Party - Ice Cream Social and Parade Viewing Party have not yet been released, as you saw online when you checked. We have not received word that it will be discontinued, so I would keep an eye out if I were you! Another option that might work for your family is the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade Dining Package at Tony's Town Square Restaurant. This includes lunch and a VIP viewing section for the Festival of Fantasy parade later that afternoon!

The good news about parade viewing, though, is that even without that riverboat reservation, there are so many terrific parade views throughout the Magic Kingdom parade route. I personally love to get a spot in the Liberty Square area near Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe or Sleepy Hollow, right near the bridge to the hub. This particular parade has many floats that are quite tall, and therefore visible even if you're not right in the front line.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
