    Hello pannelists! Planning a trip 12/04-12/13 to see the World in it's holiday glory! Having trouble deciding between WL & AKL. Hubby & self. Never stayed in Deluxe before (we always stay in moderates) but want to splurge. Suggestions? Jeannie

    Hey there Jeannie!  It's so interesting that you asked this question, because I celebrated a very special birthday at Walt Disney World last December and chose Disney's WIlderness Lodge for its Holiday decor! Although I have stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge on several occasions and absolutely love the theming, I would definitely have to give the edge to DIsney's Wilderness Lodge especially at Christmas time. From the moment you enter the lobby at Wilderness Lodge, you will be greeted by the most beautiful and grand Christmas tree ever. Guests can also enjoy sitting by the lobby fireplace while taking in all the beautiful Christmas decorations adorning the lobby.  We spent almost a full day last December traveling to the different Disney Resorts and admiring all of the Christmas decorations. Wilderness Lodge is the closest of the two Resorts to the Magic Kingdom Resort area and you will not want to miss seeing the amazing Gingerbread House in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Our other favorite Resort decorations last year included Disney's Boardwalk Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort. You will be able to utilize the Red Flag Boat (water taxi) to Magic Kingdom from Disney's WIlderness Lodge which was a nice convenience. From Disney's Animal Kingdom Resort, you will need to utilize the Disney bus transportation or car to the theme parks and other resorts. I will have to say that I do love the restaurants at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge especially Jiko - The Cooking Place. I hope this information helps in making your decision.
