Hi Moms Panel! We will be bringing our 7 year old son to WDW on the 28th of April 2010 through the 9th of May. We are booked to stay at the CBR but are debating switching to the Polynesian... Is it worth the money to switch...? Thanks for your help!

    HI Jamie!

In my opinion: YES! If switching to the Polynesian is not a budget-buster, its an incredible upgrade! While both resorts have a tropical theme, the Polynesian is over-the-top!

While there are many perks of the Polynesian, one of the biggest has to be the location! The location is one of the best in all of Walt Disney World: the monorail or boats can bring you to the Magic Kingdom within minutes and Epcot can easily be reached via a quick walk/monorail ride to the Ticket and Transportation center where you can hop on the Epcot line.

Since you are so close to the Magic Kingdom, you'll have great views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks as well! From select resort rooms or from the Polynesian beach (or volcano pool) you'll be able to watch Wishes right from the resort. From the same areas, you'll also be able to see the Electrical Water Pageant as it floats by the resort as well!

Another important perk of the Deluxe resorts for our family is that most of the Deluxe rooms have a balcony. We love to relax and enjoy a few quiet moments there each morning and evening. And lastly, unlike the moderate and value resorts, the deluxe resort rooms all open to an interior hallway.

Excellent dining choices are also located right at this resort: Kona Cafe, sushi and coffee (depending at the time of day) at the Kona Island Coffee Bar, Dolewhips at Capt. Cooks' counter service and fun dining at O'Hana.

I think I've covered the major points and hope this helps you decide! Have a great trip wherever you decide to stay!
