Hi Steven! Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I did exactly what you describe a few months ago -- after running the numbers with the upcoming Walt Disney World Resort trips I have planned, I decided an
Annual Pass was the way to go. My decision was fortunate timing on my part, as the cost of Annual Passes increased a few weeks after I had purchased mine. My (unactivated) Annual Pass is linked to my profile in
My Disney Experience, and is currently showing an expiration date of December 31, 2030. When I
activate my pass at a Walt Disney World ticket window during my vacation next month, the
expiration date will update to be one year from the date of activation.
So long story short, YES, you may purchase your annual pass whenever you like and hold onto it for a future vacation. Be sure to take advantage of all the
perks and benefits that come with your Walt Disney World Annual Pass, such as
dining and merchandise discounts, complimentary theme park parking, and downloads of your
Disney PhotoPass photos.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Congratulations on
becoming an Annual Passholder!
Anne Marie
