Hello Panel! We've been to WDW many times and have finally booked a DLC (Fantasy Mar/08/14). Booked main dining for DH, 3DS (4,4,16) & me. Best choice? Better to feed little ones early and send to clubs? Concerned about being rushed after ports. Thx

Welcome aboard, Linda! Congratulations on booking your very first Disney Cruise Line adventure! You're in for a real treat sailing on the Fantasy. It's Disney's newest, most magnificent ship!

Main Dining is always a good choice for little ones who are used to eating around 6:00 or so at home. Though there is certainly an advantage to booking the second seating that you might consider. If your little ones need a nap after a fun Port Adventure, there will be time for that before dinner. Hunger strikes before that late dinner? No need to fear! Stop by Cabanas buffet or one of the quick service spots by the pools, and grab a snack. Or, even better, order complimentary room service to have something to snack on while you get dressed for dinner.

Once at the later seating, about 45 minutes into dinner, counselors from the Oceaneer's Club and Oceaneer's Lab meet at the front of each main dining restaurant to pick up kids who are ready to go play. Parents get to enjoy the rest of dinner on their own, and kids are off to enjoy the clubs. That perk is only available at the second seating.

All that being said, you probably won't have as much time as you think before the later seating because you will want to see the nightly show as well. These run two or three times each day, usually at 6:15 and 8:30. So, if you have second seating, you'll go to the 6:15 show, then head to dinner afterwards. Sometimes there is a matinee around 4:00 or so too.

I hope that didn't confuse you too much, Linda. If you think your kiddos will be best with Main Dining, then go for it! But, I wanted you to know the perks of the second seating as well. We go back and forth each cruise ourselves and have done both seatings and have always been happy either way, so you really can't go wrong!

Let me know if you have further questions as you continue to plan!
