This panel has a wealth of knowledge. We were thinking of coming to WDW Columbus Day weekend. Are the tapas style food at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival covered by snack credits? We are trying to decide which dining plan we want to purchase. Thanks.

I had the pleasure of attending the Food and Wine Festival in 2008 and 2009. My favorite activity is walking around to all the food stands along the World Showcase. Last year, my oldest daughter and I tried to have at least one plate at all 20+ of the stands. We didn't quite make it, but we sure had fun trying.

To answer your question, yes, many of the tasting-size dishes at the food stands can be paid for using snack credits on the Disney Dining Plan.

A great resource for anyone attending the Food and Wine Festival is the fabulous independent website Disney Food Blog (full disclosure - I am an occasional guest contributor). The Disney Food Blog has photos of the menu boards from all of last year's stands. These menu boards indicate which items count as snack credits. The offerings will be different this year, but the photos will give you an idea of the types of items you might expect to find. To get to the menu board photos, go to the home page at disneyfoodblog.com, click on the logo/link that says "Epcot Food and Wine Festival." From there, click on the link that says "2009 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival." Then scroll down a bit and you'll see "Booth Menus, Pricing, and Photos." On these menu board photos, you'll see many dishes with a little purple and white checkerboard symbol next to them. Those are the foods that you can pay for using snack credits.

    Happy tasting!
