Hi panel! We are visiting the week of November 18, and noticed that Hollywood studios closes at 4 PM on Thursday, Nov 20th, which is the day we were planning to attend that park. Is there a special event going on that day? Or is that just the norm? Thx!

Hi, Amie! Occasionally the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks will close for special events.  The reason for closing is not always made public, but closings can be for Cast Member-only events, private parties, or even promotional filming.  I can't say with certainty what is happening on this date, but I do know that there is an Annual Cast Member Appreciation event in November, so that is one possibility.  Closing at 4:00 P.M. is not normal, so there is definitely something going on that night. If you're still curious, you can ask a Cast Member upon your arrival to find out what's happening, and they will tell you if they can.  Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
