Welcome Aboard, Donna!
Your cruise is just one week away! Do you have your suitcases out? On every Disney Dream cruise, there is an optional dress-up night, where cruisers can choose to dress to the nines in their ball gowns and tuxedos, or keep it casual in shorts.
The official word regarding dress code can be found on the Disney Cruise Line website. Each night of your Dream cruise can be considered "cruise casual", meaning no swimsuits or tank tops allowed in the dining rooms. This means that shorts are fine in the main dining rooms. You might want to consider bringing pants, as I have found the dining rooms to be pretty chilly at dinner. I also recommend women having a light sweater.
You can also expect a Pirate Night, where many of your fellow cruisers will be in their best pirate garb. It is really fun to see everyone's costumes on the deck for the "Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party". This is usually my favorite night on a Disney Cruise Line vacation. Fireworks at sea? Yes, please!
As far as your stroller, I would keep it with you upon embarkation until your stateroom is available (usually around 1:30pm). After the porters take the luggage, it is loaded onto the ship and stored in large rooms, stacked to the ceiling. I'm not positive a stroller would make it to the stateroom in one piece. Plus, your little one might enjoy riding around as you are exploring the ship.
I hope this helps with your packing and planning for your cruise in ONE WEEK!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
