Hi Moms Panel! We're staying @Bay Lake for 1st time & ? about transportation. How long should we allow for transport to each park (have 8am ADRs, except not @HS)? Will it be faster getting in parks with arriving before 9am rope drop? Transport to DD? T

    Hi Katherine Ashley!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I know you are concerned about getting everywhere on time, so let's see if we can help give you some definite guidelines for travel times!

From Bay Lake Tower to an 8am Advance Dining Reservation at Magic Kingdom I would depart your room 45 minutes prior to your reservation. This leaves you time to run 5 minutes late, 15 minutes to walk to the park, 10 minutes to get through bag check and into the park, and then a few minutes to walk to the dining location.

For Disney's Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, there are special early morning buses that depart Disney's Contemporary Resort especially for Guests with early Advance Dining Reservations. I just spoke with a Cast Member at the front desk of Disney's Contemporary Resort to confirm this for you. The buses begin service at 6:45 a.m., and depart approximately every 15-20 minutes. Be sure to let the bus driver know which park you need to go to for a breakfast reservation. For reservations at Epcot, this service is discontinued once the Monorail begins running. For an 8am reservation I would recommend trying to be on a bus no later than 7a.m., so you should leave your room by 6:40 or 6:45.

Transportation to Downtown Disney is by bus and begins at 8:30 a.m. most days. Buses to Downtown Disney tend to run less frequently during daytime hours, and more frequently during the more popular evening hours. If you are going to Downtown Disney for a casual visit, leave yourself at least 60 minutes. To reach a specific location for a dining reservation, leave yourself 90 minutes to be safe and allow walking time from the bus stop to the restaurant.

I hope these times will help you feel more at ease. If you are still concerned, you can always have the resort valet call you a taxi.

    Wishing you speedy travels!
