Hello Panel! I read in a response from 2013 that the Animation Academy shows were held on the hour and half hour - is this still accurate? Also, must you watch the show first, or can you proceed directly to the drawing stations? Thx!!

Hi, Alyssa! This is one of our favorite family traditions! I tell all my friends to be sure to find the Animation Academy. With the help of a Disney artist, you learn how to draw a character and have a complimentary souvenir keepsake to take home with you.  My husband had some framed that our kids did when they were younger as a wonderful gift for me.  The lessons begin every thirty minutes (and that usually falls on the hour and half hour, but it can vary slightly based on how long it takes to clear the studio after each group), and you do not have to watch one before you can draw.  Even though I am far from being an artist, by following the wonderful instructions, I have been able to produce some characters I'm proud of during my visits. You can participate as many times as you'd like, and they select different characters each time.  Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
