Hello panel, quick question, what is the difference between the original magic band and magic band 2 ? Thanks, have a great day.

    Dear Kevin,

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your excellent question about MagicBands!

MagicBands make it super easy to get around the Walt Disney World Resort, and can be used to make purchases, open your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room, and allow you into the theme parks, for a start!

In terms of the differences between MagicBands, the newer ones have a removable oval "puck" that can be taken out of the band itself and used with some other accessories for those guests who prefer not to wear their MagicBand on their wrist. They are slightly thicker and are made of a softer material than the original MagicBand.

If you have an original-style MagicBand that is still active, you can still use it at the Walt Disney World Resort as long as the battery is active. If the battery is no longer active, then the MagicBand can no longer be used at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
