Hello ,This panel has been priceless planning our upcoming Disney vacations.(yes, plural,ha)I've been debating on the discount meal card for pass-holders or meal plan. Is the discount before tip or after? Any advice would be helpful, lots of TS meal Thanks

Terry - more Disney is always a good thing!

I run the math on this from time to time as well, and for my family of 5, we always come out ahead by purchasing the Tables in Wonderland discount card.

To calculate the value for your family, I suggest visiting www.allears.net and looking at the menu section.  Select the restaurants and  sample meals that your family might eat, and compare the discounted cost of that to the cost of the Disney Dining Plan.

As for your other question, the 18% gratuity is calculated on the original total, before the 20% discount is applied.  To take it a step farther (and make the math even more complicated), tax is calculated based on the after-discount amount.

    Hope that helps!
