Hi Panel! Planning trip to WDW either week after Thanksgiving, Nov 23-30 or the next week, Nov 30- Dec 7. Any suggestions on which might be a better choice for crowd level. We are trying to avoid when ABC films the Christmas special. Thanks so much!

    Hi Joshua,

I just double checked the crowd calendar for you at the independent website TouringPlans.com. The entire period between November 26-December 7 is one of the lowest crowd times of the year. However, the beginning of your first option (Nov 23-25) is a VERY high crowd time because folks will still be visiting for Thanksgiving.

The exact date for the Christmas parade taping has not yet been announced, and we're not expecting that it will be for several more months. It could be either the first or second weekend in December (or some other date entirely).

I have been to WDW during the taping weekend several times. In my experience, the parade taping impacts the Magic Kingdom for several hours one day, but has no impact at all on the other parks. As long as you planned to avoid the Magic Kingdom during taping (if it happens), then I don't think you'll notice any related crowds at all.

Personally, if I had to choose, I'd visit during the first week of November to avoid the Thanksgiving rush altogether.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
