Hello moms panel, party of 10 (3 groups, dh, me & 4 sons, ds & fiance, dd and husband) Have ddp. All reses under 1 name and know that 18% is added. ? is if asked will they divide checks so each group can pay own 18% gratuity based on their bill.

Hi, Rita!  We just had this experience on our last weekend at Walt Disney World, and they were very gracious in providing separate checks for everyone.  There were 10 of us, and we asked for 9 separate checks.  It was no problem at all for the server to do this for us.

Before you place your order, just mention to the server that you want everything on separate checks, and indicate to them which groups go on which check.  You will also need to let them know if anyone is on the Disney Dining Plan.

The 18% will still be charged on each bill, as there are more than six at the table.  But, as you point out, the gratuity will be charged on each individual order as opposed to the group order.

I'm a wee bit math challenged, and I have to say, I much prefer a separate check to having to sit there with my calculator out trying to figure out my portion of the bill!  I'm so glad we've never had any difficulty doing this at Walt Disney World.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
