Hi moms panel. my name is amanda, and i just got back from disney this past june and it was way too hot and busy. i was wanting to know when the best time to go when it isnt so packed and the heat isnt so bad. Also when the value season is. thanks so much.

Hi Amanda! What a coincidence! My name's Amanda too, and I also just returned from a June trip to Walt Disney World, and I agree with you that the parks were hot and busy. My family still had a bunch of fun though, and since you're already thinking about your next trip, I assume you did too!

Like much of the South, Florida can be hot in the summer, and since most children are out of school then, attendance levels at the Disney parks tend to be high. You'll find the crowds to be lower in the fall, winter, and spring if you visit during times when most children are in school. Avoid visiting the Disney parks around holidays and during the Spring Break season in March and April, and you'll avoid waiting in a lot of lines.

The less crowded periods of year often coincide with the Value season at Disney, when resort rates are lower. The dates of the Value season can vary depending on the resort and the year, so I recommend you look at the "Room Types & Pricing" page of the Disney resort hotel you're considering to see the value dates for that resort. You'll typically find September and January to be periods of low crowds and rates.

One of the reasons I love visiting Florida is that the weather is usually warm and sunny for much of the year. If June was too warm for you, consider visiting between October and April, when the temperatures are typically cooler.

Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We'd love to help!
