Hi mom's panel, I love this site it is so helpful! We are taking our 4 Yr Old daughter to wdw for the first time ever! Is it possible to walk up and get a table at a character dining without reservation, if so which ones are shortest wait time?

    Hello Cindy!

I know you must be terribly excited to bring your daughter for her very first trip to Walt Disney World.  My children still remember their visits after all of these years.  You're going to have a wonderful time!

While it is possible to walk up and be seated at a character dining location, I really don't recommend it.  Sometimes it's not a question of the wait time, but more an issue of the restaurant being fully booked and not accepting any walk-ins.  If you have your heart set on character dining, try and make an Advanced Dining Reservation if at all possible.  We have always been able to obtain a reservation for the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort.  We tried a walk-up one morning and were not able to get in, but they did have an open reservation for the following day.  Also, try and adjust your meal times to eat earlier or later.  Sometimes if you can't get a breakfast reservation at 8:00 am, maybe there is availability at 10:30 am.  It really helps to be flexible.

We're so happy that you love our site.  The Moms and Dads here are passionate about Walt Disney World and can't wait to help our guests plan their magical vacations.

    See ya real soon,

    Leanne T.

Walt Disney captured my heart as a little girl and has not let go since. As a parent and grandparent, I have been to the Walt Disney World Resort with children of all ages, and also as empty nesters. I would like to share my years of experience so that you are able to start your own tradition of Walt Disney World memories, just as I have. Learn More About Leanne
