    Hi! This panel has been invaluable while planning our upcoming trip to WDW in December! I was wondering what your thoughts are on taking kids,ages 5, 4 & 2 to the Candlelight Processional? Thanks!!

    Hi, Kathy!  I love, love, love the Candlelight Processional!  It is my favorite holiday thing at Walt Disney World, hands down.  

    I have to admit, my children do not share this love.

    Your mileage may vary, so I hate to tell you not to take them.  My oldest daughter was totally on board.  Even as a baby, she'd fall gently to sleep on my lap during the show (even staying asleep when I stood for the Hallelujah Chorus of Handel's Messiah).  As a toddler, she would dance and clap.  She always has loved the show.

    My 14 year old was not as enamored.  She was three when I took her for the first time, and her response was, "Why are you making us go to Church in the night time?" She was not a fan of the music, and often covered her ears during louder, trumpet parts.  She found the retelling of the story of the nativity boring.  Even at 14, there are other things she'd rather do.

    With my youngest, who is now 10, it depends on how long the theme park day has been.  She'll go and sit through the show if she hasn't been at Epcot since rope drop.  She's not as into as my oldest was shen she was little, but she'll sit politely and tolerate the show.

    So, long story short, it's going to depend on your kids.  If they can sit through "church" and enjoy the experience, or if they really enjoy music and a great story, they might be fine.  If they're not really good to sit for 45 minutes shoulder to shoulder with a crowd, you might want to listen from the back.
