Hi Panel: Have there been any improvements re: bus system at AKL? I keep reading reviews, and the only negative mentioned is the overcrowding due to stops at Kidani first. Tnks. I always rely on your advice

    Hi Patricia,

We have stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Kidani Village numerous times. It is a gorgeous property but I do have to admit we steer away from staying there for two reasons. The distance from the resorts to the majority of the parks and what seems like a slower bus system than other resorts.

To my knowledge there have been no specific changes to the Disney bus system between these two properties. Disney does try very hard to monitor occupancy percentages at the resorts to make sure they are utilizing the buses in the most needed areas, but as you can imagine it is hard to know what time of the day all of the guests will be trying to use the transportation options. I can tell you that in my last stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, the buses did seem to be less crowded and run a little quicker. Of course what time of the season you travel and how crowded the resort is will make all the difference, but I do think DIsney is attempting to keep the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Kidani Village guests moving along in the quickest and most efficient manner.

Wishing you empty and fast buses for your next stay!
