Hi Moms Panel! I’m so excited to hopefully get to ride Rise of the Resistance when I visit Hollywood Studios on the 20th! However, I’m nervous that it might trigger my motion sickness, since I get queasy on Star Tours. Should I skip Rise of the Resistance?

Bright suns, Rachel! I hear you have an upcoming journey to Batuu soon! I recently returned from my travels there, and I'd be happy to give you some advice.

I can certainly understand your predicament, as I start to turn green the moment I even think about riding anything with a motion simulator, including Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. I've also experienced some queasiness on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, but I think that has more to do with inexperienced piloting. You can witness our hilarious adventure on the Disney Parks Blog (just don't tell Chewie we wrecked)!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is an attraction with multiple ride systems that puts guests into the middle of an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order. Without spoiling too much, I will warn you that there is a short motion simulator segment. I did not feel sick at all after riding; however, I was a little light-headed from all the exhilaration of the amazing experience! Your mileage may vary, but I think you'll be absolutely fine. Just make sure to pack some Dramamine in your bag (a frosty Blue Bantha Milk Cooler from the outdoor Milk Stand did wonders to ease my stomach as well).

While you're in Black Spire Outpost, Rachel, ask to have your "image scanned." There are several unique Magic Shots available through Disney PhotoPass that make for very fun vacation souvenirs!
