Your panel has been so helpful for us in planning and we are getting really excited about our trip! Thank you! My question is: we are staying at AKL, but we were wondering: can we only visit the pools there, or can we visit ones at other resorts?

Visiting the pools at other hotels is called "pool hopping' in Disney lingo and, for the most part, it is not allowed.

If you are Disney Vacation Club members staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge on your DVC points, you may visit the pools at the other hotels, except for Stormalong Bay at the Yacht/Beach Club and not during blackout dates. If you are not a DVC member, you will only be allowed to used the pools at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

You should know that the AKL pools are beautiful. I'm sure you'll have a great time swimming there.
