Hi Panel! We are going to DW Aug19-24, and have the DDP. We are trying to decide whether to eat at Coral Reef or Chefs de France at EPCOT before watching the Illuminations show. We are 3 adults and 1 16 yr old. Which would you recommend?? Thanks!

    Hi Michaela,

Those are two fantastic choices that you have selected, and a great way to enjoy the evening just before Illuminations.

Les Chefs de France, located in the World Showcase is a beautiful restaraunt with glass windows and a bright airy feeling. The menu is of course French cuisine with choices like beef tenderloin, duck and lamb. You can also find appetizers like onion soup, cheese platters and escargot. Dessert option include crepes, tarts and a scrumptious chocolate mousse cake.

The Coral Reef, attached to the Living Seas in Future World has a very peaceful and calm ocean feel to it. In a darker setting with lots of cool greens and blues, you will find a restaraunt with tables that all face an amazing view of the large aquarium and coral reef that makes up the Living Seas exhibit. The menus here is a selection of filet, chicken and fresh seafood dishes. You can start your meal with a bowl of the incredible lobster bisque and dinner is not complete without my favorite dessert, the Chocolate Wave.

While both locations would offer your family an amazing meal and wonderful atmosphere, my choice would be Coral Reef. We find the ambience to be very calm and relaxing and a great place to escape the park crowds. We find the food choices more to our liking as there are a number of items in France that included sauces we did not care for.

    Hope this helps, bon appetit!
