Hi panel! 9 days away. My husband is suffering from pretty bad heel spurs very painful walks with a cane. He is limited walking and standing for long periods. Does he have to bring a dr note or his crutches in order to get any special passes?

I'm so sorry that your husband is having a problem with his feet. Unfortunately, a Disney vacation requires extensive walking, so this timing is particularly bad. When I say extensive, I mean that my family generally walks at least 10 miles per day in Disney World. If normal walking at home is painful for him and requires a cane, I'm honestly not sure how he will manage in Disney.

I very strongly suggest that you consider renting him a scooter so he can still enjoy the parks with you. Disney has them for rent at the park entrances, but their availability is not guaranteed. You will find a better price and an availability guarantee if you rent from a third party. We have used Walker Mobility in the past with great success, and there are several others in the Orlando area as well. They will deliver to your resort so it is ready and waiting for you upon check in, and they will pick up after you leave, as well.

My mother rented a chair for use in Disney when we traveled shortly after she had foot surgery, and it saved our vacation. I know it may not seem like the most convenient option, but it is far better than being in pain or unable to enjoy your trip!

    Good luck!
